Since July 8, Émile, a little boy aged two and a half, has mysteriously disappeared. On the day of his disappearance, the child was playing in the garden of his grandparents’ home located in Haut-Vernet, a town located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. He unfortunately had escaped their surveillance. Despite a significant research system and great citizen mobilization, little Émile still not found. An investigation for “search for causes of worrying disappearance” had been opened, before switching to preliminary investigation for “arbitrary kidnapping, arrest, detention and sequestration”.
However, his parents, Colomban and Marie, do not lose hope. Four months after his disappearance, the investigations continue. According to information from Parisian, around thirty searches were carried out in six departments. They were carried out in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence by the gendarmes of the Marseille research section and by the gendarmerie group of the department and also in other departments.

“The searches carried out this Tuesday targeted people located or positioned in the area of the disappearance on the day of the tragedy, whether residents of the region or vacationers passing through, on tourism and vacationing in a second home“, highlighted The Parisian. At this stage of the investigation, thanks to telephone investigations, investigators know who was present in the village on the day of Émile’s disappearance, and even people who were only on vacation.
Investigators are thus exploring a new avenue by focusing on “passing vacationers”, housed at the time of the events, in lodges. Residences in Digne-les-Bains were searched, as well as in Bouches-du-Rhône and in departments located outside the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur region.. Searches to check the schedules and behavior of the people concerned which may be suspicious. But, for now, “nothing allows us to confirm at this stage that the perpetrator is among them“.
