Florence Porcel's testimony is chilling. The 37-year-old writer and columnist accuses the former presenter of TF1's JT of having raped her on several occasions between 2004 and 2009. The reaction of "PPDA" was first made through his lawyer in a press release sent to AFP, Thursday, February 18, 2021. The latter relays a denunciation "too falsehood inspired by a quest for improper notoriety " and decides to file a complaint. In the same sense, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor spoke on Facebook on Friday February 19, 2021 in order to express himself, through his virtual pen. The former presenter of Night flight said he was surprised. "I discovered with amazement the accusations of Mrs. Florence Porcel, relayed with complacency by a daily", he writes at first before detailing the nature of their relationship."I used to talk to her until then brotherly relations and shared his taste for literature. Several times I supported her when publishing books or in dealings with journalists. There has never been any form of control, let alone coercion. The writings of Madame Florence Porcel that I have kept, for the most part after his accusations, will amply prove it", he adds.
"PPDA" engaged in the defense of women?
Following the publication of the article in Parisian, many revelations concerning the media figure have surged. Patrick Poivre d'Arvor, known to be a "collector of women" would not have supported being forgotten by his companion at the time, Claire Chazal. Upon learning that the mother of her son François had turned to Xavier Couture, then head of TF1, PPDA would have urinated on the couch of the presenter's office in order to take revenge.
However, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor says he is very concerned by the living conditions of women. This is justified on Facebook while continuing to refute the alleged attacks: "For me, defending the cause of women has always been a topic of primary importance. So I experience these attacks very painfully. And my family and my relatives consider them unbearable. I am outraged by the way people try to use me to promote a novel. The search for notoriety is no excuse. Nor is the fascination with what shines. In all my life I have never forced anyone to have a romantic relationship, nor of course to have sex". And to conclude:"Of course I will respond to any summons from investigators to restore my honor and the truth of the facts".
