Around 15 years after his death, Patrick Swayze’s widow still watches the Hollywood star’s films. These are good for her heart, she says.

The actress Lisa Niemi (67) remembers Patrick Swayze (1952-2009) in a very special way. The widow of the late Hollywood star sometimes watches his films, like her told the US magazine “People”.

Patrick Swayze’s films are good for her

“From time to time, yes,” Niemi answers when asked whether she watches one of the numerous successful films. “I watch a little bit here and there, and a few years ago I saw ‘Road House’ and I thought, ‘Wait a minute, this is really great. This is so cheesy.’ Fans will certainly also fondly remember the 1989 film in which Swayze played a bouncer. A remake was recently released on the streaming service Prime Video, in which Jake Gyllenhaal (43) takes on the leading role.

But Niemi also enjoys watching other films by her husband, who died of pancreatic cancer in September 2009 and whom she married in 1975. “I still love ‘Ghost from Sam’ and ‘Dangerous Surf,’ and of course every time we turn on MTV we see Patrick dancing in ‘Dirty Dancing,'” she says. “It’s good for my heart.”

Lisa Niemi fell into his arms and cried

Niemi firmly believes that there are signs from Swayze when she needs him. “What are you doing?” she hears him asking in her head. And she dreams about him “very, very often.” He appeared to her often, especially in the first ten years after his death. That was very comforting for her because she missed him so terribly. She can remember one dream in particular. That night he appeared to her, she fell into his arms and while he held her she cried like a baby.
