Paul de Saint Sernin (What a time!): married, diagnosed with HPI… What do we know about his private life?

Every Saturday, in the second part of the evening, France 2 comes alive to the rhythm of What an era!, the show presented by audiovisual leaders, Léa Salamé, Christophe Dechavanne and Philippe Caverivière. The fine team, busy each week receiving several guests who make the news, is completed by a free electron with a more than insolent tone : Paul de Saint Sernin. Discreet about his private life, the one who slips into the audience of the program every Saturday revealed himself in Galaon newsstands this November 23.

The eldest of six children, Paul de Laparre de Saint Sernin (his full name) is a family-oriented man. His parents worked a lot, as an insurance broker for his father and in banking for his mother, he says having taken care of his three brothers and his two sisters. Taken responsibility very early, he was also diagnosed with HPI (for high intellectual potential) and neuroatypical when he was a child. A particularity which earned him the opportunity to pass his scientific baccalaureate at the age of 16. He then began engineering studies, which he did not like, then a flourishing career in journalism.

He wants to succeed in humor, despite personal difficulties

Accustomed to scathing comments in What an era!Paul de Saint Sernin is also incisive on a football field. Round ball loverhe became a presenter of the sports news ofi-TV at 19, and scouring the specialized channels. This time again, the experience is not conclusive. Ultimately, it’s humor that he wants to do. A new challenge to take on for those who stuttered during their childhood.

And if the 32-year-old comedian is not afraid to appear in the show hosted by Léa Salamé, Paul de Saint Sernin remains allusive about his private life and his atypical psychological profile. Married at 32, he says “incapable of concealment”. Addicted to humor, which he considers to be “a drug”he continues to evolve in the world of stand-up – for example, he is preparing a show for 2024. A universe far from his comfort zone, he who explains to Gala not to be “not very good at capturing the emotions of the people in front of (him)”.
