Paul Rudd, 54, is apparently not a fan of the diet plan he has to follow to transform into Marvel hero Ant-Man. The 54-year-old called it “terrible” and “restrictive” and explained that his preparation for the film “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” was a real “horror trip”. Rudd said this when he was a guest on the comedy food podcast “Off Menu”, according to US media reports. There, the actor also revealed that his diet plan for the superhero film was so intense that mineral water became a treat for him.

When he had to train for the “Ant-Man” film and was on a very restrictive diet, his reward was mineral water, he said in the podcast, according to CNN. “That’s how terrible this diet was. I thought, ‘Okay, I can have some soda now, I deserve it.'” He added: “It wasn’t flavored, I didn’t want to go crazy.”

Paul Rudd: “The others always looked better”

Paul Rudd went on to explain that he had gotten used to training for his “Ant-Man” appearances. “Once you get into it, it’s not too hard,” he said. But no matter what he did, in his opinion, the other Marvel stars like Chris Hemsworth, 40, always looked better than him. “I trained harder than anyone, I ate better than anyone and I looked worse than anyone,” Rudd joked. “I had to work out all the time, eat perfectly, just to look bad. Not even great.”

Apparently many people see it differently. Paul Rudd was named “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2021. The Hollywood star has been taking on the role of the Marvel hero since the 2015 “Ant-Man” film. In 2016 he appeared in “The First Avenger: Civil War”, later in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” (2018) and in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019). “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” followed in 2023.
