Pax Dei an ambitious MMORPG at the heart of European folklore

If the genre of MMORPGs has become a bit niche despite the appearance here and there of some big projects like New Worldthe small Finnish studio Mainframe continues to believe in it and invites us to discover Pax Dei. Present during the PC Gaming Show 2023 through a long video, the MMO aims to revolutionize the genre by offering a freer and more social approach to online gaming. Based on European folklore from the 13th-14th century, Pax Dei aims to become a reference in the MMO Fantasy universe via a radically different approach to the game.

Discover the origins of Pax Dei.

The developers wanted to anchor Pax Dei in a fantastic world, using the codes of the Middle Ages, based in particular on the environment of the south of France. The fantastic aspect is also at the heart of the lore since it uses the European folklore of the time. We are therefore on a rather magnificent world, which suggests a truly unique atmosphere. If the question of optimization is not yet relevant (some gameplay sequences lack fluidity), the realism of the graphics is impressive for this type of game.

But it is above all on the social aspect that Pax Dei wishes to stand out. Indeed, the Mainframe team insisted a lot on the desire to create a unique social experience. Thus, the players will be able to interact freely and this from the beginning of the adventure. Trade, crafting, Clans, PvP and PvE content, everything has been discussed in a framework where interactions between players will be the key to your progress.

Without a release date for the moment, Pax Dei is still in full development. It is nevertheless possible to register for future Alpha phases of the game on its official website (in English).
