Pax Dei: The ambitious MMORPG gives new information and talks about servers

Remember, at the beginning of the year, we discovered Pax Dei, a sandbox MMORPG announced by Mainframe Industries, a studio founded by former Blizzard and Ubisoft developers. According to the information provided, it is a community game where exchange is important, and with a strong crafting aspect. Players will be free enough in their activities, to ensure that the village evolves positively.

But before sharing new gameplay information with us, some details on the technical aspect were given by the developersteaching us some pretty important things.

Pax Dei does not want to make a New World or Lost Ark

First, we learn that the architecture will be managed quite similarly to other basic MMOs: a single world on several servers, depending on the region. At the moment, each server can support up to 7,000 simultaneous users, but the objective is to increase this capacity in the long term. The teams are very concerned about potential server problems and are working hard to try to avoid them during launch, but also to ensure that no latency is noticed in-game when moving from one region of the world to another (region of game, not server region). For this, Pax Dei will be supported by a solid architecture to avoid overloading an area and therefore disconnections.

Besides, at launch, all worlds will be identical. We won’t have a PvP world on one side and PvE on the other.. Also during the release, the studio explains that it will be able to easily open new worlds if those available are overloaded, to avoid too long queues. Otherwise, Mainframe Industries also mentions character transfer, which should be available from the start of the adventure. However, moving the camp or the plots of land modified by the player will not be possible, for a technical reason.

To conclude, Pax Dei developers explain that they are not against add-onsprovided it is not for cheating.

Despite this new information, we still don’t know when Pax Dei will be released. You can still add it to your wishlist on Steam. New information should be communicated in the coming weeks. It is still possible to register to participate in the alpha.
