Graphics card prices are currently in free fall. Both AMD and Nvidia models are getting cheaper by the day. The graphics card crisis seems to be over at last. But for PC gamers, there’s another reason to celebrate. Because not only the popular graphics accelerators, but also processors are currently becoming cheaper.
After the price of graphics cards falls: Processors follow suit
For PC gamers, every day should feel a little bit like Christmas right now. Because after within the last year and a half graphics cards almost priceless were, the hardware in demand is finally becoming cheaper again.
But apart from the graphics accelerators from AMD & Nvidia, a price slide is also noticeable – namely for processors. If you take a look at the price development of current Intel and AMD models, you will see that the current CPU models are also becoming increasingly cheaper. Here are a few examples at a glance:

Price decline for AMD processors is more pronounced
What is immediately noticeable: AMD processors have fallen in price significantly more over the same period than the competing models from Intel. This is probably mainly due to the fact that the Intel chips are much newer. They only appeared in autumn 2021, while AMD’s Ryzen 5000 processors were launched a year earlier.
For PC gamers, this development is definitely a reason to celebrate. Only console players continue to look down the drain. Because even more than a year after the official release, Xbox Series X and PS5 are still in short supply. According to expert estimates, this will not change until the summer of 2022 – but at least the Xbox Series S is still in stock and remains a real insider tip.
