Pcresse calls on users to put pressure on the government

The president of Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), Valérie Pécresse, wrote to user associations on Wednesday to put pressure on the government, so that it makes a gesture to avoid an excessive increase in prices. for users in 2023.

Faced with a sharp rise in its costs linked to inflation and soaring energy prices, the regional transport authority must find 950 million euros to complete its operating budget for 2023, which cannot be in deficit.

Of this sum, she found 300 million from the Ile-de-France region and the departments, the RATP and the SNCF, and expects to save 200 million.

He therefore has 450 million euros left to find, which can only be released if the State makes a move, according to Ms. Pcresse.

+20% on rates

For months, we have proposed to the Prime Minister (Elisabeth Borne) and to the Minister of Transport a whole series of proposals which they brushed aside: reduction in VAT, increase in the mobility payment for companies, transformation into Covid debt subsidy, tourist tax on hotels over 4 stars, etc., she writes

If the government does not allow IDFM to find new forms of financing, tariffs could increase by 20%, she threatens. The Navigo monthly subscription would notably increase from 75.20 to 90 euros, and the metro ticket from 1.90 to 2.30 euros.

Nobanques: the cheapest offers to control your budget

I ask you to mobilize all the means at your disposal to make the government face up to its responsibilities (…) and ask it to include in the 2023 finance bill the necessary tax revenue, in order to help reduce the bill as much as possible. for Ile-de-France users, writes Valrie Pcresse to the associations.

On social networks, associations of users such as Fnaut or Plus de trains have regularly warned, for several months, against an excessive increase in the Navigo, calling on the government to act.

IDFM must adopt its budget, and therefore set the next tariff increase, during its board meeting on December 7.
