“Peaky Blinders” series creator Steven Knight promises several offshoots. The end of the series after the sixth season is just the beginning.

The end of the series “Peaky Blinders” is just the beginning: series creator Steven Knight (62) promises to “Entertainment Weekly” several offshoots. After the sixth and final season of the gangster saga, not just a film is to come, but several spin-offs.

Already in October 2021 Steven Knight announced a film about the gang around Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy, 45).. Filming is scheduled to begin in 2023. According to the showrunner, the theatrical spin-off will conclude the story of the gang from Birmingham. At least the history of the Shelbys as we know them. Knight had vaguely promised spin-offs.

Multiple spin-offs in the Peaky Blinders universe

Knight has now given an update to “Entertainment Weekly” about other spin-offs alongside the film. “After that, depending on how the structure of the film unfolds, we’ll be rolling out a few spin-offs that will be part of the same universe,” said the Peaky Blinders boss.

Knight has not revealed whether the offshoots will be series or films. After all, this time he used the word “spin-off” explicitly. When the film was announced last fall, he had deliberately avoided the term.

“Peaky Blinders”: Final season starts soon

The sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders airs on the BBC in the UK from February 27th. A start date for Germany is not yet known. However, Netflix showed the previous season about a month after the UK start.

“I call this the end of the beginning,” Knight says ambiguously of the final season. And with that, about the future of the franchise.
