Attention, this documentary is difficult and its sensitive subject prohibits it to children under 12 years old.

Directed in 2020 by Vít Klusák and Barbora Chalupová, the documentary Pedopredators trapped on the internet tackles online predation by “trapping” the culprits. This film was made in particular following the observation – recalled at the top of the documentary – that“one in two children chat with strangers on the internet” and that’“one in five would agree to meet a stranger”.

A documentary to discover currently and until November 19 on Arte.tv.

In order to reveal the pedopredatory behaviors taking place on the internet, the documentary filmmakers cast a casting call for young adults to choose three with juvenile features. Supervised by sexologists, psychologists and the film crew who is in direct contact with them among the exchanges, these women will pass themselves off as 12-year-old minors on live chat sites.

The result is chilling and the observation implacable: in 10 days of filming from noon to midnight, 2,458 men contacted the three actresses, some going so far as to blackmail them with “nudes” (in this case fake photos of the young naked girls created for the documentary) or meet them in “real life”, without a screen, to suggest that they go further.

The documentary also gives keys to understanding and recalls what the law says about these issues.
