Marvel has finally officially announced the cast of the new “Fantastic Four” reboot. “The Last of Us” star Pedro Pascal is also there.

They have it for Valentine’s Day Marvel Studios finally revealed who will play the “Fantastic Four” in the new reboot with an Instagram post.

The studio posted a drawing showing the four superheroes with the face of the respective actor or actress. The cast that comic fans have been waiting for is now official.

In the reboot, Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic will, as has been speculated in advance, be played by none other than Pedro Pascal (48). The drawing also shows that “The Invisible Woman”, Sue Storm, is taken over by Vanessa Kirby (35). Joseph Quinn (30) plays the Human Torch, Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (46) will appear as Ben Grimm aka “The Thing”.

Who plays Dr. Doom?

Marvel writes about the drawing: “Happy Valentine’s Day from Marvel’s First Family! Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn are the Fantastic Four.” For die-hard Marvel fans who have been following the rumors about the cast for months, the news should come as no surprise: With the now official cast, exactly the actors that were previously speculated about have been confirmed. However, one question still remains unanswered: who is the villain Dr. Doom will play.

The confirmation of the cast is less of a surprise than the almost casual announcement. In any case, this concerns the fans in the comments more than the discussion of whether Pedro Pascal will do justice to Mr. Fantastic. “They didn’t just announce the cast,” it says in disbelief. Or, “Dude, the way they announced that was unexpected.”

The cinema release has been postponed

What is new, however, is the theatrical release: “In cinemas from July 25, 2025,” the post announces the now slightly later US release date. The original estimate was April 2025. As was already known, the film will be directed by Matt Shakman (48) and the script will be written by Josh Friedman (57), Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.

The reboot is the third attempt by the popular comic group of heroes to shine on the big screen. Neither the film adaptations released in 2005 and 2007 with Chris Evans (42) and Jessica Alba (42), nor the 2015 film with Kate Mara (40), Michael B. Jordan (37) and Miles Teller (36) were able to convince fans or critics .
