Facing the ministers, Gabriel Attal explained that this work of educational interest will be given more easily. “This will be part of a review of the scale of sanctions in our schools, from a very young age”, he said. Work of educational interest (TIE) to empower parents of juvenile delinquents

The implementation of this work of educational interest is important for Gabriel Attal who hopes that it will empower parents. The Prime Minister assures to propose the “establishment of community service for parents of young delinquents, who have completely evaded their parental responsibility”. He also mentioned the availability of 50,000 boarding places with a specific goal. “From now on, when a young person is on the wrong track, rather than letting him fall into delinquency, we will suggest to parents that he be placed in a boarding school, by facilitating access, including financial access”, he concluded. As a reminder, current community service is a criminal sanction imposed by a judge. Their aim is to enable social integration while avoiding prison. Minors aged 16 to 18 must complete work or an internship.
