Opponents of the pension reform demonstrated again all over France on Tuesday, for a tenth day of high-risk action with an “unprecedented” security device, after a resurgence of violence and incidents for two weeks.
“We are and will remain the bulwark against illegitimate and dangerous violence“, assured Olivier Véran, at the end of the Council of Ministers which was held on Tuesday. “We respect strikes and demonstrations, but we will be particularly vigilant that they do not give rise to new excesses, thanks to the exceptional mobilization of the police, which we salute, but also to the commitment security services of trade union organizations“said the government spokesman.
