Ihe CGT Federation of Chemistry (Fnic-CGT), which includes refineries in particular, is calling for a renewable strike from Monday March 6 against the pension reform, on the eve of the “shutdown” of the country, we learned Friday from a union source.

“It’s official”, the CGT of chemistry “will call from the evening of the 6th” for a renewable strike, “so refining is included in it, the petrochemical industry, the pharmaceutical industries, rubber, plastics” , Éric Sellini, CGT coordinator for the TotalEnergies group, told AFP.

The CGT has already called for a renewable strike for garbage collectors, trades for which it is the majority in Paris. A call for a renewable strike was also launched by an inter-union of the RATP. The CGT energy, which has been on renewable strike since the beginning, has also called on electricity and gas employees to mobilize.

On the chemical side, the renewable strike could lead, if it lasts for several days, to the shutdown of certain oil refineries. March 7 marks the start of debates in the Senate on the government text which provides in particular for a postponement of the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years.
