The group of independent deputies Liot will propose on June 8, during its parliamentary niche to repeal the postponement of the legal age of departure to 64 years. But for Sylvain Maillard, elected by the majority in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, this “will change absolutely nothing” because this law has been promulgated.

This Sunday, May 7 marks six years since Emmanuel Macron came to power. For the occasion, activists from the Renaissance presidential party will distribute leaflets all over France, which refer to the actions carried out during these six years, but not to the pension reform, promulgated in mid-April and still contested in the street. On this subject, the deputy of the majority Sylvain Maillard answered the questions of Jacques Serais, and in particular the will of the independent group Liot to propose, during his parliamentary niche on June 8, to repeal the postponement of the legal age departure at age 64.

“We must stop wanting to replay the match permanently”, protests first the elected representative of the first district of Paris, believing that “it will change absolutely nothing”. “First, nothing is written. We do not know how this bill will turn out, but this law has been promulgated”, he underlines in Europe 1 Morning Weekend.

“This parliamentary news will change nothing”

Sylvain Maillard shares his vision of an “essential” reform, despite this attempt to repeal. “We need to work a little more to guarantee our contributions and our pensions. It is a reform of effort, difficult, but essential”, supports the elected official on Europe 1. According to him, “all that we need wear for the future, if we don’t work a little more, it won’t work”.

“We must, as in all other European countries, work a little more”, continues Sylvain Maillard, who insists that “this parliamentary news will not change anything”. If this “essential” and promulgated reform does not appear on the party’s new campaign, it is “because Emmanuel Macron’s action is not only on this pension reform”, specifies the deputy.
