After a rather successful year 2022 for the National Rally, the party is setting off in 2023 towards new major projects. With the pension reform, the party wants in particular to establish itself as the great opposition force in France. The RN also intends to prepare for the European elections of 2024.
After a year 2022 which saw Marine Le Pen collect 42% of the votes in the presidential election and the election of 89 deputies to the Assembly, the National Rally wants to continue to structure itself for the European elections next year, with always the presidential election of 2027 in the line of sight… The beginning of the year 2023 marks above all for the party the arrival of major projects.
The parliamentary niche on January 12
The first big sequence will be the pension reform. The RN is hostile to it and thus intends to assert itself as the first opposition party. The bill, unpopular in public opinion, makes some elected officials fear the anger of the working classes. “Marine Le Pen will still garner votes”, anticipates, resigned, a Republican executive.
The RN will also set the agenda for the Assembly on January 12, during its parliamentary niche. On the menu: a 10% wage increase, school uniforms and the abolition of low-emission zones. The RN thus seeks to invest in all subjects, hence the importance of its 89 deputies, distributed in the various committees in the Assembly and responsible for feeding the party’s program for 2027.
The objective is also to create a credible ministerial team. An argument that was lacking during the last campaign, according to a party strategist. Finally, among the other projects, the National Rally wants to convince the middle classes, civil servants, teachers and other small retirees. Marine Le Pen will also resume a field tour in the coming days after a long post-presidential break.
