Pepsico: Aim for a waste-free Champions League final

(CercleFinance.com) – PepsiCo and UEFA are today unveiling a series of innovative sustainable food and beverage practices for the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final.

The goal is to make the UEFA Champions League Final a waste-free event by 2026, through the power of its brands, Pepsi, Lay’s, Doritos and Gatorade.

During the Women’s Champions League final at PSV Stadium in Eindhoven on June 3 and the Champions League final at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium on June 10, PepsiCo and UEFA will implement circular economy based on the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle), in order to minimize the impact of football on the environment.

The UCL final’s fully recyclable, plastic-free and biodegradable fiber cups will significantly reduce the use of single-use plastic.

All PepsiCo beverage and food packaging provided at Finals events will be 100% recyclable.

“PepsiCo continually strives to use its reach and influence to change the way society makes, uses and disposes of packaging,” said Archana Jagannathan, sustainability manager for Europe at PepsiCo.
