Roxette singer Per Gessle is reminiscent of Marie Fredriksson. On the first anniversary of his death, he pays tribute to his band colleague with a touching video.

"Today a year has passed since Marie left us after her long illness," writes musician Per Gessle (61) on Instagram. Together with Marie Fredriksson (1958-2019), he celebrated worldwide success as the Swedish pop duo Roxette, especially in the eighties and nineties. On December 9, 2019, he had to say goodbye to his colleague and good friend. Fredriksson died of complications from cancer at the age of 61. The Swede remembers them today.

He cherishes her legacy

On the occasion of the first day of death, Gessle draws attention to the musical legacy of Fredriksson on the band's official Instagram page. He put together a "playlist of some of her amazing works from both her solo career and the Roxette years" for fans. In addition, he published a compilation of several video sequences that show Fredriksson both during concerts and in private activities, in the backstage area or in music videos for their songs.

Accompanied by the moving images from the Roxette classic "Listen To Your Heart" from 1988. At one point Gessle's voice can also be heard, as he must once have raved about his bandmate: "She really enjoys it when she performs. Even if it's just in front of the camera. She really enjoys doing it. "
