In the West Bank, a young man climbed every day to his mother's hospital window, suffering from the coronavirus, to watch over her until she died.

This story is far from going unnoticed and has been around the world on social networks. In Hebron, West Bank, a young man named Jihad Al-Suwaiti had to go through the worst. Her mother, who was diagnosed with the coronavirus, was hospitalized. Result: impossible for him to visit her or be directly in contact with her since she had to be quarantined and in intensive care. In order to continue to see her mother and support her no matter what, Jihad Al-Suwaiti decided to still go to the hospital every day. To respect the ban on being in contact with her, he simply climbed the hospital wall to sit on the edge of his mother's bedroom window. He was also photographed climbing the wall and sitting at the window, watching over her.

A hospital official tells Bored Panda : "He spent most of his day there, observing his mother's condition from across the window. Then came downstairs when he was convinced she was sleeping soundly. " So, every day the young man visited his mother to ensure her state of health and show her that he was there for her, despite the distance that separated them because of the sanitary rules. His brother, Rasmi, had told the media that he was very stubborn and wanted to see his mother despite the visitation bans. The young man, aged 30, indeed shared a very special bond with her.

She had leukemia before testing positive for Covid-19. The two illnesses she suffered from only worsened her condition. Jihad Al-Suwaiti did not lose hope on learning that his mother was affected by Covid-19. His support was unfailing until the end. Indeed, her mother died following her infection. Activist Mohamad Safa even paid tribute to the young man and his mother with a poignant illustration of Jihad Al-Suwaiti at his mother's window, the latter watching over him like a guardian angel.
