After a total of 14 burglaries in the city of Salzburg, with a total damage of almost 50,000 euros, the perpetrator has now been caught.
During his actions, the man broke open the front doors of various houses and looked specifically for cash. In the period from August 19 to October 31, the 38-year-old stole almost 16,500 euros in cash. After he was only released from custody at the end of April 2021 and had previously acted similarly, the man was targeted by the police. Due to the approach to the series of burglaries and previous investigations, the officials again focused on the 38-year-old. The police officers found the instrument of the crime in the apartment. The man confessed and was brought to the Salzburg prison by order of the Salzburg public prosecutor’s office. As a motive he cited financial difficulties and his drug addiction.
