Perpignan: a man on the run after setting his parents on fire


The two victims, in very serious condition, were evacuated to the Perpignan hospital center, the prosecution said.

A 30-year-old man set his parents on fire in Perpignan on the night of Saturday July 23 to Sunday July 24 and is on the run, we learned from a police source on Sunday morning.

The attack on the parents, whose body was 80% burned, took place in a district of the city center of the Pyrénées-Orientales prefecture, at around 1 a.m.

The two victims, in very serious condition, were evacuated to the Perpignan hospital center, said the city prosecutor’s office. The son is on the run, the police source said. He is “actively sought“confirmed the prosecution. The suspect used a homemade incendiary device, police said.
