Peugeot is setting up a promotional offer until the end of August on its new electric e-308. Customers can therefore take advantage of a great offer allowing them to walk away with a copy at 34,300 euros. Enough to compete with the Tesla Model 3 on paper, because in fact everything is not so rosy.
Since the price war launched by Tesla at the beginning of the year, all manufacturers have been fighting to reduce their prices and offer attractive offers to customers. The Stellantis group is no exception, as Citroën has implemented a discount on its ë-C4, while the Fiat 500e benefits from a more generous ecological bonus. But that’s not all.

At Peugeot too, we are generous with customers. A few months earlier, the manufacturer set up an offer on its e-208, only for rental. The city car is accessible through 150 euros per month with fairly strict conditions, especially for mileage. But the manufacturer does not stop there, quite the contrary.
The latter is once again being talked about, this time with a promotional offer on another model. This is the Peugeot e-308, barely launched in concessions and which is already benefiting from a nice discount. This is visible on the manufacturer’s website, which offers the electric compact for only 34,300 euros. The goal ? Compete with the Tesla Model 3 which starts from 41,990 euros.
But you can imagine that this advantageous price, which still allows the French to take advantage of the ecological bonus, is not without conditions. However, it is true that Peugeot gives customers a gift of 1,420 euro discount. A nice price drop, which comes with a reduction of 3,000 euros. But it is in fact a trade-in bonus, ie it only applies if you have your old car bought back by the manufacturer.
If so, you can take advantage ofa discount of 4,420 euros on the electric compact. This lowers its price to 41,300 euros in its Allure version. But how to arrive at the price indicated on the site? Well, you should know that this also takes into account the ecological bonus of 7,000 euros. However, this one is not reserved only for the most modest households and is income-tested.
An interesting offer?
But that’s not all, because the manufacturer also offers up to 4,400 euros in customer benefit on his compact. But again, this amount consists of 3,000 euros of trade-in premium, which involves getting rid of your old car. It remains to be seen whether this is more interesting than the conversion bonus, for example, the scale of which varies according to the tax situation of households.
Finally, Peugeot also offers its electric 308 for hire, for a monthly rent of 250 euros. But be careful, because this offer also includes some conditions to know before starting. We must indeed take into account the first rent of 4,200 euros, while the ecological bonus of 5,000 euros already included, as well as the conversion bonus of 2,500 euros. Moreover, this promotion concerns a 36 month contract, with 500 kilometers per month.
If the Peugeot e-308 is therefore more affordable than the Tesla Model 3, is it a real good deal? To be honest, not necessarily. Because the tricolor compact is still a notch below in terms of performance compared to the American sedan. The Frenchwoman is indeed satisfied witha small 156 horsepower electric motor and 260 Nm of torque while the Model 3 Propulsion displays 269 horsepower.
The Sochaux compact embarks a 54 kWh battery, which gives it a range of around 400 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. Which is more than enough, contrary to what many think. But the Tesla is still a cut above, since it can travel 510 kilometers on a single charge. The Peugeot e-308 asks about 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%at a power of 100 kW.
