MANILA (Reuters) – The Philippines has beefed up security at 42 airports across the archipelago following bomb threats that were “most likely a hoax”, the aviation security chief said on Friday.
“Airport service is continuous, it is normal,” added Jack Wanky.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAAP) announced earlier on Friday that all 42 commercial airports in the country were on heightened alert due to bomb threats.
The Air Traffic Service received a warning that bombs were about to be detonated on planes coming from Manila to Puerto Princesa, Mactan-Cebu, Bicol and Davao International Airports, he added. ‘Authority.
