Philips Hue Festavia: finally a connected garland for the holiday season

The Philips Hue Christmas tree garland was a bit of an Arlesian in the small world of connected lighting. While many users in the ecosystem were waiting for it, Philips Hue is finally launching its Hue Festavia.

This 20 meter long light garland is made up of 250 connected mini-LEDs capable of diffusing color lighting combined with a multitude of shades or white light (warm or cold). Since it is part of the Hue ecosystem, it also includes features specific to the range. In fact, the user will be able to turn it on or off remotely, vary the light intensity, define hours of lighting or even respond to scenarios programmed in the application. It can also be synchronized with music (via Spotify or Samsung SmartThings) and can thus light up or flash to the rhythm of the music played.

Two flicker modes

To accompany the release of its connected garland, Philips Hue is deploying two new lighting modes specifically adapted to this product: the “flickering” effect will make each led of the garland flash, while the “random” effect “will diffuse up to five colors sparsely along the garland for a cheerful and colorful experience“.

Like all the lights in the range, this light garland works in conjunction with a connection bridge, itself attached to the home’s internet box via Ethernet. The bridge will then communicate in ZigBee with the fleet of Hue bulbs and lights integrated into the ecosystem.

The Philips Hue Festavia will be available on November 15 exclusively on the manufacturer’s online shop for €159.99.
