Are you running out of candles to create a subdued atmosphere this February 14? Don’t panic, Signify has the solution.
Light bulbs and other connected lighting devices have become commonplace. More and more homes are equipped with them, and it’s easy to understand why. In addition to the advantage of being able to turn the lights on and off with your voice or via a smartphone, these devices also allow you to change the lighting ambiance of a room at will.
So, we can assure you: on this Valentine’s Day, many people are already looking for the perfect color combination for a (very) beautiful evening.
Candles that have become has-been
If you are a user of Philips Hue devices, such as one of the LED strips, you are probably familiar with the accompanying smartphone application allowing you to configure and control them. It’s full of options and features, including scenes. These allow you to configure your lighting according to a variety of moods, most corresponding to particular themes such as a season, a type of event or a time of day.
It is with this functionality that the application celebrates Valentine’s Day. Its last update (5.10.0) includes a new romance-themed category. With a simple click, you can change the lighting ambiance of your rooms to adopt more pink, red and golden tones. At least that’s what’s hidden behind the names of the proposed scenes: ruby romance, city of love, sunset allure, lovebirds, smitten, glitz and glam, promised. Something to warm up.
Valentine’s Day is also tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and then also the rest of the year
This novelty is not exclusive to the lovers’ party. Signify specifies that it will still be available thereafter, February 14 being the best excuse to release new scenes. Either way, with your soul mate, every day is Valentine’s Day. Is not it ?
At the same time, the new version of the application welcomes another update which is not directly related to February 14. That’s because Signify makes a small change to Philips Hue Secure, allowing users to turn off notifications from the system when it’s armed. Of course, motion detections and other events will continue to be recorded, without disturbing the residents of the house who, in any case, will surely have better things to do.
