For synchronization to take place, Philips offers a box, the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, which makes it possible to bridge between the television and the LED strip, and it must be said that we were less convinced by this solution. In addition to largely perfectible ergonomics, with the need to install a dedicated application (this is no longer the case today), the accessory offered by the brand was offered at a particularly expensive price of nearly 250 euros.

Philips Hue will offer a new, easier-to-implement solution in the coming weeks for accessing synchronized lighting between your TV and your bulbs, but again, the price stings a bit.

An application available on Samsung televisions and at a very (very) salty price

The manufacturer has just announced a dedicated application, which includes all the features provided by the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box. From your TV screen, you will be able to control the lighting, intensity or automatic start of your LED strip, Philips Hue Play light bars or Philips Hue connected bulbs in the house and synchronized with your TV. .

Signify, parent company of Philips Hue, indicates that all video formats will be compatible, whether you are watching a program from video streaming applications installed on your television or a TV box connected via HDMI.

For now, the app will only be available on Samsung TVs, and only 2022 and later models will be compatible. The manufacturer does not give any details about future compatibility with other models or other brands.

To offer you this experience in the living room, you will have to pay the price. Signify is announcing a price of $129.99 for the app, available initially in the United States. And of course, you will have to add the price of the equipment if you want a complete experience.
