During an interview given to Galapublished on October 12, Carole Bouquet could not hide her enthusiasm to interpret Racine’s tragic heroine. “Bérénice is an obsession. I have a passion for Racine’s writing, the music of his alexandrines”she declared, before praising the “greatness of soul” of this character: “She sacrifices herself, renounces love”.
By reciting the famous playwright’s verses, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild’s companion feels true admiration for her heroine. “I find her remarkable as women are, very often capable of renunciation”she admitted in the columns of ProvenceOctober 18, 2022.
