PHOTO – Charles III and Camilla: they present their greeting card

It’s almost Christmas and as tradition dictates, the British royal family revealed their greeting card for the year 2023! It will be about first Christmas of King Charles III since his coronationthus and very naturally, this year’s official Christmas card presents a photograph of the King and Queen taken by Hugo Burnand in the throne room of Buckingham Palace on coronation day. A very “royal” photo, ultimately… To the left of the photo, the royal couple wrote: “We wish you a very Merry Christmas and New Year.”

The portrait of Charles III and Camilla presents them in all their splendor : the king wears the imperial cape – The Imperial Mantle – made for the coronation of George IV in 1821, whilehe is wearing the magnificent imperial state crown. For her part, Queen Camilla wears her ceremonial dress made by Ede & Ravenscroft and designed and hand embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework, accompanied by her coronation dress created by Bruce Oldfield. She also sports Queen Mary’s crown, originally designed for the coronation of her husband’s great-grandmother in 1911. For Charles’ coronation, modifications were made, adding diamonds that belonged to Elizabeth II.
