Although several months separate us from the announcement of the future Google Pixel, the latter have once again revealed many details about them.

While the Google Pixel 8 series will feature the new Tensor G3 processor, let’s find out without further delay what the devices have in store for us in terms of photos.

New leak for the next Google smartphones

It has now been several weeks since leaks began to multiply on the side of Google’s next smartphones. Moreover, the latest concerns the presence of a thermometer in the Pixel 8 Pro. If the American giant took advantage of its I/O 2023 conference last May to lift the veil that revolved around its Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold, we will however have to wait until next fall to find out what we will reserve the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Finally, officially…

As usual, the next flagships from the Mountain View giant couldn’t help but be talked about. The information of the day comes from the site Android Authority and are reported to us by GSMArena. And they relate more specifically to one of the great strengths of Google smartphones in recent years, namely the camera.

Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro: what specifics and features for the camera?

Yes, it is even a very detailed overview of the Google Pixel 8 camera that we are entitled to today. Via a source within Google, we first learn that the Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor will give way to a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN2 sensor. According to information fromAndroid Authoritythis will result in a noticeable improvement in the camera with brighter images in low light and faster shutter speeds to reduce blur.

If the Pixel 8 will retain a wide-angle sensor similar to its predecessor, namely the 12-megapixel Sony IMX386, the Pixel 8 Pro will switch to a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 sensor for its ultra wide-angle. In addition, the Pro model will also welcome an all-new 8×8 VL53L8 Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor, which will notably improve the performance of the camera during autofocus.

As you will have understood, it is the top-of-the-range model which should absorb most of the new features expected for this year (at least, for the camera). The Pixel 8 Pro is already shaping up to be a serious evolution of the Pixel 7 Pro, released last October. The source being particularly reliable, and even if we will wisely wait for an official confirmation from Google, it’s a safe bet that these various pieces of information will come to be confirmed at one time or another.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

  • Its value for money
  • A successful and premium design
  • A superb bright screen

2021 will have been a good Pixel vintage, 2022 really is just as much. Without revolutionizing its formula, Google manages to refine it in order to offer a complete smartphone without major defects. More premium in its design, certainly, the Pixel 7 Pro is one of those phones that amaze, and clash, as soon as you put it on a table. With its superb bright screen and its new Sensor G2 chip, it is ready to entertain you long, wide and across. In terms of photography, he keeps his crown on Android. Zoom, wide-angle sensor, portrait, “Night” mode, ergonomics… It surpasses all the competition. Only Apple continues to stand up to it. Only complaint, too bad it is not as good in video as in photo. However, we trust Google to keep improving its copy.

Finally, its only Achilles’ heel could come from its charging, which is too slow and its autonomy, which is satisfactory, but not exceptional, especially when used in strong light.

Anyway, with its new flagship, Google responds perfectly to our initial questioning. Yes, it is possible to offer a complete and ultra-premium smartphone under the 1,000 euro mark. The Pixel 7 Pro is proof of that.
