Obelix of the celebrity press, she fell into it when she was little and never really left the pot. His favorite pastime? Scour the social networks of stars to find clues about breakups or new couples still kept secret.

At the dawn of his 42nd birthday, Prince William’s bald head and beardless face no longer hold any secrets for anyone. What the public knows a little less, however, is that at the time, Prince Harry’s brother sported quite a beard that almost no one remembers.

Prince William got used to the idea, so much so that he laughs about it himself today. For several years, Prince William has witnessed a spectacle that he himself considers distressing: the loss of his hair. His baldness has become a playground and jokes within the royal family. It is therefore now with the little hair and the beardless face that fans of the British royalty discover him at each of his official appearances.

But what the public perhaps remembers a little less is that Prince William was not always like this. Certainly, his skull was initially covered with hair, but it seems that the rather substantial beard that the future king of England sported the day of the traditional Christmas mass in Sandringham was completely skipped.

At 26, Prince William tried the bear look, a little wilder, but much cooler and more stylish than clean-shaven. His brother Harry, now bearded, was properly shaved. The site Hello compared him at the time to his father Charles who, too, had adopted this look during his youth. And there is no doubt, he is indeed his father’s son, judging by the striking resemblance that emerges when we see them, both bearded, next to each other.

William, a new man in 2008

This beard was surely an attempt by William to put a bad patch behind him and start the revival. Because in 2007, Prince William was a little lost in his life. He had also ended his love affair with Kate Middleton, leaving her in tears in the parking lot of her work, before quickly reversing his decision. In the army at the same time, he contacted her by phone to tell her that everything was over.

Devastated, Kate Middleton was able to count on those around her, her sister Pippa in particular. The two roamed the trendy London clubs and their wild parties made the front pages of magazines. A happiness and freedom that Prince William faced head-on. Aware of having lost the woman of his life, William returned to Kate Middleton and the couple gave themselves another chance. Never has an opportunity been so well seized…
