The investigating judge in charge of the case decided to lift Pierre Palmade’s provisional detention on Monday, at the request of his lawyer, for medical reasons. A decision strongly contested by the parquet floor of Melun who immediately appealed.

A new episode in the Pierre Palmade affair. Crushed, the comedian was placed on February 27 in pre-trial detention in connection with the serious road accident he had caused on February 10 under the influence of cocaine. On Monday, the investigating judge in charge of the case took the decision to lift the provisional detention of Pierre Palmade, for medical reasons. A decision that was strongly contested by the prosecution. The comedian remains officially in detention, even if he is still hospitalized.

Will Pierre Palmade be placed under judicial supervision?

The Melun public prosecutor’s office issued a summary detention order to oppose the decision. This means that the conditional release of Pierre Palmade is suspended. The comedian therefore remains detained and placed under police surveillance in his hospital room at Plessis-Robinson. An establishment where he was transferred on Sunday to follow a new treatment following his cardiovascular accident.

From now on, the question of the placement under judicial supervision of Pierre Palmade is in the hands of the first president of the court of appeal. He has 48 hours to decide whether to keep him in detention or not. In less than ten days, the investigating chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal will rule on the placement under judicial supervision or the return to detention of the comedian.
