Pietro Lombardi (31) and his fiancée, Laura Maria Rypa, want to give something back to the clinic that helped them after the birth of their son. As part of the RTL fundraising marathon, the two visit the premature baby ward at the University Hospital in Cologne. On November 17, 2023, the singer and his partner want to campaign for financial support in the studio. RTL announced the project, which was launched together with the “RTL – We Help Children” foundation and the federal association “The Premature Child”, via a press release.

Pietro Lombardi and Laura Maria Rypa know the premature baby ward at the Cologne clinic better than they would like. Son Leano was born here in January this year – six weeks early, weighing only 1,900 grams. “Those were really very bad weeks full of hope and fear for us,” the broadcaster quoted Pietro Lombardi as saying.

“The little one has to live”: Pietro Lombardi remembers being born prematurely

“Every day was a rollercoaster of emotions. A thousand thoughts race through your head and you only have one wish: I just want to go home with my healthy child! The little one has to live!”, remembers the singer.

During their visit to the clinic for the fundraiser, Lombardi and Rypa met the young couple Jana and Marvin. Her daughter Maria was born 16 weeks premature. The music therapy used in Cologne helps Jana a lot. “The gentle sounds make me very focused on my child, I relax and can give the little one peace of mind. I feel that this reduces the stress for both of us,” Jana told the prominent visitors.

Pietro Lombardi is also enthusiastic about music therapy. That’s why he and his fiancée are fighting to preserve the project at the telethon. “We know how difficult it is to be the parents of a premature baby,” said Lombardi’s appeal. “Please help and donate!”
