One year after the birth of their son, Pietro Lombardi and Laura Maria Rypa become parents again. What does this mean for their wedding plans?
Singer Pietro Lombardi, 31, and his fiancée Laura Maria Rypa, 28, announced on Thursday evening that they are expecting their second child together. Does the sweet news mean that their wedding will be postponed for an uncertain period of time?

So far, the couple has decided not to say yes so that their son Leano, 1, can properly witness the event. If number 2 is also supposed to be of an advanced age for the wedding, it will probably be quite a while before Pietro Lombardi and his Laura dare to step in front of the altar. They have been engaged since October 2022 – but an early marriage was obviously never an issue. Since little son Leano was already on the way, it was clear to the “DSDS” winner that he would only get married after the birth. In an interview with the “Bild” newspaper in December 2022, he said: “I have no idea when exactly, but the child will definitely be there by then.” What is certain is that we will first go to the registry office and then there will be a big celebration, which may, however, be “postponed until the year after next.” There is “no pressure”.
But the couple didn’t make it to the registry office in 2023 – perhaps because Leano was a premature baby and needed a lot of attention at first. In the summer of 2023, Pietro Lombardi postponed the topic of wedding even further. In an Instagram story he revealed: “We really want Leano to be able to experience it properly.” At least the location seems to be fixed. Because the musician announced that he wanted to get married in his favorite place in his homeland, Karlsruhe Castle.
Now Leano just celebrated his first birthday and is starting to actively explore the world. But the new offspring could now thwart the couple’s wedding plans and set their priorities differently for this year. The two wrote on Instagram: “For the New Year, our lives were not only changed by the new house, but we also found out last week that Alessio and Leano are having another sibling.”
The love they “felt in that moment” was “indescribable and wonderful.” They continued: “As a family, we are more than happy and grateful to be able to share this news with everyone and to grow. 4 now become 5.”
His ex-wife has long since remarried
Laura Maria Rypa and Pietro Lombardi got together in 2020 but quickly broke up. An on-off relationship followed. He already has marriage experience; he was married to colleague Sarah Engels, 31, from 2013 to 2019. The two have a son Alessio, 8, together. The singer has also started a new family: she married again in May 2021. She had daughter Solea, 2, with her husband Julian Engels, 30.
