  • Google launched the Pixel 4a in 2020.
  • Now the smartphone has been completely removed from the website.
  • A sequel may appear soon.

Google is now already offering the 6th generation of its Pixel series. So far, however, the manufacturer has also continued to sell the cheaper Pixel 4a from 2020. The cell phone is popular – especially as it is one of the few current small cell phones on the market. But now the Google cell phone is apparently on the verge of the end.

According to a report by GSMArena, Google has completely discontinued the Pixel 4a. It can no longer be found on the website and only remainders are available from third-party providers.

Off probably has several reasons

The sudden end of the Pixel 4a could have several reasons. On the one hand, the global chip shortage is likely to play a role. There is a global lack of resources for electronic devices and more and more manufacturers are experiencing production problems as a result. The result: It is concentrated on a few lucrative models.

On the other hand, a successor to the Pixel 4a could soon follow. Specifications of the Pixel 6a have recently been circulating on the internet. This could celebrate its premiere in May at the Google I/O or as early as February at the MWC.
