Does the Pixel 8 come without a physical SIM card? According to leaked images, Google could do without the card slot.
The new Google Pixel 8 (Pro) is expected to be announced at the end of October. The successor to the Pixel 7 is said to have a few surprises in store, according to the latest leaks, one of them could relate to the connection to the mobile network.
Pixel 8 in some regions only as an eSIM variant
The well-known Twitter channel of @OnLeaks has released new render images of the Pixel 8. Striking: There is no SIM card slot on the left, as was the case with the previous versions. This could indicate that Google could launch the Pixel 8 as an eSim-only variant in some regions.
According to the leaker, however, the details in the pictures should be treated with caution and are by no means a guarantee for the waiver. However, since the eSIM is on the rise, above all with smartwatches and dual-SIM cell phones, a pure eSIM version would at least not be entirely improbable.
This is known about the hardware
The Pixel 8 is rumored to come with a 50-megapixel camera. Google’s Tensor G3 chip will probably be used internally, and the cell phone is also said to offer a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,992 x 1,344 pixels.
The smartphone is said to be available in two memory configurations, 128 and 256 gigabytes. There is also speculation about a new audio feature called “Audio Magic Eraser”. This should make it possible to remove unwanted background noise from videos.
