Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Android 14… We know when the next “Made by Google” event will take place

The tech giants have definitely spread the word. After Apple, which announced the date of its back-to-school keynote yesterday – for those who missed the information, an appointment is made to discover the iPhone 15 on September 12 – it’s Google’s turn to indicate the date of his. It is therefore on October 4, 2023 that a “Made by Google” event will take place, traditionally reserved for Pixels and the software that drives them, Android. Mountain View, in the tweet that accompanies the information, does not fail to underline with humor the proximity of its announcement to that of Apple, and to mock its competitor.

Google had already started to increase the pressure a few hours ago, “leakant” probably voluntarily the design of its Pixel 8 Pro on its social networks. We were thus able to discover the back of the device, and in particular its photo block integrated into a metal band very characteristic of the Google style. And it is undoubtedly this smartphone, accompanied by a Pixel 8, which will be the star of the event, scheduled for New York. The opportunity to confirm the technical characteristics that we already guess (a 6.7-inch flat screen, LTPO and with increased brightness for the Pixel 8 Pro, for example), and to discover in detail the Tensor G3 chip which will animate the smartphones.

The Pixel 8’s operating system, namely Android 14, was showcased at Google I/O last May and has been getting various betas since then. It is therefore during its event that Google will formalize its final version, detailing all the features included in the OS. It is also his presentation that will give the starting signal for the race for updates from third-party manufacturers, in which Samsunglike Xiaomi already seem well engaged.

Finally, the event could host other products. Why not a new generation of Pixel Watch, the first watch from Google about to celebrate its first anniversary, or even a product from another category, for example stamped Nest. We will follow the conference with you to detail all the new features from Google.
