With the release of the Pixel 8a fast approaching, Google’s mid-range smartphone is once again being leaked with a series of photos of unknown origin. These images posted online by TechDroid show a terminal with a compact design with rounded corners, a screen with particularly thick borders, as well as a matte effect back.
A look reminiscent of the model visible on a recent advertisement from the operator Fi Wireless, and which already seemed to be a Pixel 8a.
If the smartphone should be launched at a less accessible price than expected, the choice of a screen with such wide edges is surprising, particularly at the chin of the device. Many competing products in the same price segment, such as the Redmi Note 13 Pro or the Nothing Phone (2a), in fact offer screens with thinner and symmetrical borders.
At the back too, while Samsung has chosen glass for its Galaxy A35 and A55, the Mountain View firm seems to have equipped its Pixel 8a with a plastic back, as on the previous generation, this time with a matte finish. On the other hand, it should align with the competition on the screen side with a 6.1-inch panel finally benefiting from a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an announced maximum brightness of 1400 cd/m².
As a reminder, the Pixel 8a should be officially presented on May 14, 2024 during Google I/O 2024, which leaves plenty of time for other indiscretions.
