Owners of a Google Pixel phone are complaining about a rather bizarre bug that has sometimes been noticeable on their smartphone for months. The ringtone and alarm tone change without you having to do anything. Sometimes the phone just stays silent.
Pixel phones: tones change automatically
More and more Pixel phone owners are noticing a curious error that causes laughter and frowns in some cases. To all appearances the Google phone randomly changes the toneswithout notifying the user. From one day to the next, users suddenly hear different melodies when they wake up from their Pixel or receive a call. The sound for notifications also changes without you having to do anything.
The reason for the error is still completely unclear, and Google itself has not yet commented on the subject. Some users report that the bug has only become noticeable since the latest Android update. On Reddit, on the other hand, several Pixel owners explain that the error has already since the end of last year occurs (Source: Reddit).
The bug can not only be found in the latest cell phone in the series, the Pixel 6 (Pro), but also in older models. It seems particularly strange that the tones newly selected by the mobile phone are partly are not available in the selection menu. It should also happen that the pixel sets a tone that does not exist on the smartphone. In this case, the mobile phone simply remains silent – which is of course anything but optimal with an alarm clock.
