The trailer for Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom, the next feature film in the legendary saga, has been revealed! See you on May 22, 2024 at the cinema to discover this new chapter in the simian franchise.
Planet of the Apes: Supremacy, the last part of the legendary license, arrived in our region 6 years ago. In December 2019, after the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney, the studio announced the start of work on a new opus in the saga: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The French title will be Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom. Wes Ball, author of Labyrinth, was responsible for producing this new episode.
American actor Owen Teague, 24, was chosen to play the lead role in this new feature film. He plays a primate in performance capture, succeeding Andy Serkis who slipped into the shoes of Caesar, hero of the last trilogy. Freya Allan (The Witcher) and Peter Macon (The Orville) are also there.
The plot of the film will take place in the universe of the previous saga Planet of the Apes, as indicated by 20th Century Studios / Disney last year. We will find a whole new family of heroes several years after the events of Supremacy.
In Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom, some groups have never heard of Caesar, while others have twisted his teachings to build thriving empires. In this context, an ape leader begins to enslave other groups to find human technology.
Meanwhile, another primate, who saw his clan kidnapped, sets out on a journey to find freedom. A young human woman becomes the key to the latter’s quest, although she has plans of her own.

Adapted from the science fiction novel by French writer Pierre Boulle published in 1963, the first film directed by Franklin J. Schaffner and carried by Charlton Heston was released in 1968 and became one of the biggest hits of the year, winning an honorary Oscar for best makeup. To date, the latest trilogy has grossed 1.7 billion greenbacks worldwide. With Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom, Disney is trying to relaunch the successful saga. In France, the three previous films attracted almost 10 million spectators!
