“Wordle” has been enjoying great success on the Internet in English-speaking countries for weeks. With us you play the German version “Wördl”:
Beware of addiction: The original Wordle or the German-language version Wördl is a word puzzle. Every day there is a new word that is searched for and consists of five letters. You have a total of six attempts to find the word you are looking for. The puzzle provides clues to the word by color-coding letters in an inputted word. Gray letters do not exist in the word, yellow letters are in the wrong place, and green letters appear in the word at exactly that place.
The Wördl inserted above comes from Wordle.at, which was developed by the graduate engineer Philipp Hübner from Vienna. The developer points out that declined and conjugated forms of words are also allowed, for example GO and GINGE.
More Wordle variants
A second page for Wordle in German is located at Wordle.uber.space and works on the same principle. The design and elements are the same as the original English Wordle and the Austrian variant. The dictionary here consists of almost 3,800 five-letter words.
The multilingual Wordle version in German, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and other languages can be found on the wordle.wekele.com website. It also offers five, six and seven letter word puzzles. However, there is an integration for Google Ads here, so advertising is displayed.

The New York Times includes the puzzle in its The New York Times Games Suite, where it joins titles like The New York Times Crossword, Mini Crossword, Spelling Bee, Letter Boxed, Tiles, and Vertex.
