PlayStation 5: how to follow the presentation of new games this Thursday

Sony will stream a State of Play presentation this Thursday, February 23. The focus will be on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueas well as on the PlayStation VR2.

At the start of 2023, the main players in the video game market are organizing meetings to make announcements. In the last few days, we’ve had Microsoft’s Developer_Direct and Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct. Now it’s Sony’s turn to speak, with a new episode of State of Play.

How to follow Sony’s State of Play conference?

To attend this State of Play, you will have to sacrifice your second part of the evening. Be careful, it will be a little late: the event will start at 10 p.m. French time.

  • When ? Thursday, February 23 at 10 p.m. French time;
  • Or ? Here on Twitch PlayStation or on YouTube;
  • What ? The State of Play conference, focusing on select titles coming soon to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2.

We’ll see Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but probably not Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

For this first edition of State fo Play broadcast in 2023, Sony has decided to highlight Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This new adaptation of the DC Comics universe, signed Rocksteady (studio behind the Batman: Arkham trilogy), will benefit from a preview of 15 minutes of gameplay. This will allow you to discover a little more about this ambitious game expected for May 26, 2023 on PS5 (as well as on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC).

Sony also mentions new images from third-party games “. We can think of games like street fighter 6, Resident Evil 4, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor or Final Fantasy XVI.

Finally, the Japanese firm will unveil five new games for the PlayStation VR2, a way to support the launch of the virtual reality headset – available since February 22. The accessory really needs extensive media support, as well as a catalog of games provided, to make you want to invest. For the moment, the outstanding games are not there.

  • What we are sure to see : villains from the DC Comics universe punching people (Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League).
  • What we would like to see : Sony formalizes an exclusivity that no one expected (example: a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid) — it was already our bet for the last Microsoft conference. Bet lost.
  • What we would like to see, but which will never happen : Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, a big PS5 exclusive planned for this fall. There is no way that Sony will make this game coexist with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. And everything suggests that he will be entitled to his own State of Play.
