The remastered version of The Last of Us Part 2 is confirmed thanks to a page from the PlayStation Store, now unavailable. The title will arrive on PS5 on January 19, 2024.
The rumors were right in prophesying a remastered version of the second part of The Last of Us. We have just learned that this PS5 version does indeed exist and that it will soon be marketed.
The PlayStation Store spilled the beans
This announcement therefore confirms the information in our article dedicated to the game. Although The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is not yet in the PlayStation Store catalog, it appears that it is already part of the database, as websites that track store updates have retrieved relevant data regarding the game. PSdeals.net offered a description of the title which referred to a page of the PlayStation Store which is now unavailable. PSdeals’ announcement included screenshots that appear to be from the remaster, with the phrase ” captured on PS5 “.
A short trailer
InsiderGaming first reported the game’s release date and even found a short trailer released by Naughty Dog. This teaser begins with images from the remaster of part one, then moves on to those from part two. Wario64, the noted insider at X.com (formerly Twitter), corroborated the game’s release with a link to the same trailer which appears to be hosted on Sony’s servers. Subsequently, an official version of the video was posted on YouTube a few hours later.
New features
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will come with a host of special features and a brand new mode: No Return, described as “ a rogue like survival mode designed to allow players to prove themselves during random encounters and discover the combat of The Last of Us Part 2 offering a unique experience “. With a number of new playable characters, each with their own skills, the aim is to provide a challenge that will appeal to even the most seasoned players.
The PC will have to wait
It’s worth noting that the trailer makes no mention of a Windows version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Although Sony has ported many games to PC in recent years, it usually takes over a year for these ports to arrive on PC.
