PlayStation Stars is currently experiencing serious problems due to an outage that has lasted for several weeks. The publisher will, however, end another loyalty program.

For two years now, Sony has been allowing PS5 players to “earn money” thanks to its loyalty program. The principle is rather simple, every month new campaigns are launched and allow you to earn points to exchange for games or vouchers on the PS Store or for PlayStation Plus. This ranges from purchasing specific titles, to playing productions offered via PS Plus or even winning specific trophies. As a bonus, some digital bonuses could be earned as collectibles to immortalize their exploits. A program which has found favor in the eyes of many players, but which is encountering serious problems. However, it is not he who will be put to death very soon.
Big problems for PlayStation Stars and the end of Sony Rewards
This is a case that has been going on for two weeks now. A few days after adding the Stellar Blade exclusive to the games that could be won through PS Stars, the loyalty program suddenly became unavailable. The mobile icon of the application, essential for accessing account details, has disappeared, when some people have still not obtained the points due to them. Players were unable to get a response from Sony despite numerous complaints. So when the publisher announced the end of one of its loyalty programs for December 31, 2024, many wrongly took the shortcut. This only concerns Sony Rewards, famous credit cards which allow you to accumulate points and win PlayStation vouchers in the United States.
The manufacturer therefore explains that after this date, this loyalty program and all the points accumulated will disappear forever. It will no longer be possible to access your dedicated account and the available vouchers. “ Be sure to collect any unused digital codes you have earned or redeemed in the “Activity” section under the “My Account” section of the website or mobile app », he specifies on this same page. Naturally, the dedicated application will no longer be available at the end of the year.
When will PS Stars return?
As for PlayStation Stars, the outage continues and continues. Ironically, new rewards are available following this announcement. There are digital pins bearing the image of Joel from The Last of Us, Clank from Ratchet & Clank, Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal and the Traveler from Journey. Since Sony has not responded to players’ complaints, we still do not know whether or not those for whom points were not correctly counted will receive compensation, nor when the service will be available again.
