Game news PlayStation Plus: “free” PS5 and PS4 games for February 2024 with PlayStation Splatoon!
You know the custom: at the end of the month, Sony reveals the games that will be “free” to all PlaySation Plus subscribers for the following month. For February 2024, we will be entitled to three titles, including one which will be available on the day of its release!
If you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra or Premium, then you are entitled to a handful of video games each month : you can keep them “for life” and play them as much as you want… but on condition that you remain subscribed to the famous Sony service. And seemingly nothing, with all these years, there are dozens of titles – for some, hundreds! that players were able to accumulate in their collection.
In short, it is January 31, 2024 and to continue the year well, the Japanese firm has just lifted the veil on the selection for the month of February. Without further ado, here is this new batch and it will be made available from Tuesday February 6 until Monday March 4:
Foamstars, Square Enix’s answer to Splatoon
Splatoon is a particularly popular license at Nintendo: the multiplayer matches are sparkling, general public (we spray each other with ink) and frankly well-rehearsed. Enough to give ideas to the competition: Foamstars is therefore intended to be a PlayStation exclusive developed by Square Enix and here, the ink is replaced by foam! Players can tackle 4 vs matches 4, through several game modes and with a dozen characters with various skills. The context takes place in a nighttime city where parties and neon lights are legion: the title will therefore be available day one in PS Plus.
Rollerdrome, when Max Payne meets Jet Set Rado
In the world of riding games, OlliOlli games hold a very special place and are highly esteemed. Roll7, which is at the origin, decided to move up a gear with RollerDrome, released in 2022: we still do urban sports there – here, rollerblades – with a whole bunch of crazy acrobatics to perform. But above all, the English developers have included real mechanics shooting with bullet time and big headshots to line up: The result is a mixture of atypical and frankly fun genres, coupled with a graphic and artistic style that will undoubtedly recall a certain Sable. In any case, at JV, it’s a nice 16/20.
Steelrising, the Life of P made in France
Fighting against crazy automatons in a city in full anarchy is not a new concept: in the field of Souls-Like and in this theme, we obviously think of Life of P which made a big splash last year last. Yet, At the end of 2022, the French from Spiders (Greedfall among others) had already offered Steelrising, a demanding action game in which you played an automaton responsible for protecting Marie-Antoinette in the middle of the French Revolution! In this total uchrony, King Louis XVI unleashes an army of killer robots on Paris to sow fear among the citizens: a great opportunity to explore the Capital in an alternative version of the 18th century for a successful experience (15/20 with us).
