The latest information about Sony’s VR headset has just fallen! The PlayStation VR2 will be released early next year. And its price will not only make people happy.

Indeed, the VR-based device will ultimately be more expensive than a PS5.

The appointment is made

The Japanese manufacturer has been distiling more or less crisp details about the PS VR2 for several months. It must be said that the helmet will try to make an impression with its many innovations. It will include two OLED screens of 2000 x 2040 up to 120 Hz, vibrations integrated into the device, the famous PS VR2 Sense controllers and 3D audio.

Of course, all this will have a cost! Since Sony has chosen to increase the price of the PlayStation 5 in several regions (including Europe), one could logically expect a relatively high price for the PlayStation VR2. Today, Sony confirms via its PlayStation-Blog that the accessory will be launched on February 22, 2023 at 599.99 euros in France.

A catalog to match?

Note that the basic pack sold at the price mentioned above will contain the helmet, a pair of Sense controllers and stereo headphones. Another bundle will go on sale with a download code for Horizon Call of the Mountain in addition, all at 649.99 euros. Also, a charging station for the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller will be offered separately at 49.99 euros.

On the gaming side, Sony plans to launch 13 new titles in 2023. The Dark Pictures: Switchback VRa new survival horror from Supermassive Games (Until Dawn), has just been announced. In total, around twenty games should be available when the headphones are released in February.

Finally, pre-orders will open from November 15 and only via the direct.playstation.com site.
