The channel is indeed broadcasting this Tuesday, July 4 the sixth and last episode of Prière d’Enquête, its detective series led by Sabrina Ouazani (Plan Coeur) and Mathieu Spinosi (Clem).
Entitled “A Lost Soul”, this final episode also starring Christian Rauth, Frédéric Largier, Rémi Pedevilla and François Caron sees Elli return to Valmagne to investigate the death of the foreman of the abbey renovation site led by the Compagnons du Devoir, who was found lifeless after falling from the top of the nartex.
Murder or suicide? To find out, Elli will have to look into the secrets of the past of certain companions. While Clément will be doubly upset by what happens within the monastery and by the meeting with his biological parents.
Launched in February 2020 on France 3, Please investigate was certainly not helped by a very sporadic broadcast. The last three episodes, shot between June 2021 and July 2022, having only been offered in recent weeks on the air.
On June 20 and 27, the series with Sabrina Ouazani nevertheless allowed the channel to rank at the top of the audience, bringing together 3.9 and 3.54 million viewers respectively in front of its episodes 4 and 5.
Scores up compared to episode 3 broadcast in September 2022, which only brought together 3.1 million followers, but which remain far from the audience ratings of Alex Hugo for example and will certainly not motivate France 3 to reconsider his decision to arrest Please investigate.
Please investigate stops to make way for new fictions
Asked last fall about this decision to put an end to Please investigate, Anne Holmes, director of programs and director of fiction at France Télévisions, explained to us that she had the feeling of having done the rounds of the series. .

“On Prayer to Investigate, the hardest thing was to mix religion and investigation”confided Anne Holmes. “Ditto for Police de Caractères, where we mixed letters and investigation, which is not the case with L’Art du crime because we follow a brigade specializing in works of art, it’s more easy to weave. And basically, to be honest, we also need space because if we want to launch pilots, we have to stop certain fictions”.
Please investigate therefore bears the brunt of a complicated formula to be deployed ad infinitum, but also of France Télévisions’ desire to launch new fiction, like the pilots Flair de famille, A l’instinct, Tout le monde ment or Les Pennac(s), all of which will become series and return to the air soon with new episodes.
Note that, next Tuesday, France 3 will rebroadcast the third episode of Prayer to investigate, “It was written”, proposed for the first time on September 6, 2022.
