Poco F5: the technical sheet unveiled, Xiaomi will send heavy in 2023

The technical characteristics of the Poco F5 are revealed on the Web, a few months before the official announcement of the smartphone. And if they are true, Xiaomi holds its future bestseller in the mid-range.

The Poco F4 GT.

Although the range of smartphones poco widens a little more each year, with models now displayed from 170 to 500 euros, there is no doubt that the F series remains the most beautiful showcase of the brand. If the Poco F4 and F4 GT had serious assets to seduce fans, their successors should win all the votes, even among the most reluctant towards Xiaomi.

Evidenced by the data sheet of the Redmi K60, which will certainly be renamed Poco F5 by us. The specifications of the smartphone have indeed just leaked and they promise to make the smartphone one of the best mid-range models of 2023.

The technical characteristics of the Poco F5 will make it the bestseller of 2023

If some of the specifics of the Poco F5 had already leaked last October, others have just been unveiled. And as is often the case, it is via Twitter that we learn more about Xiaomi’s future smartphone. Here is in detail everything we now know about the Poco F5:

  • Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor
  • 2K screen
  • 5500 mAh battery with 67W (wired) and 30W (wireless) fast charging
  • Triple photo module, including a 64 MP main photo sensor
  • Fingerprint sensor under the screen
  • LPDDR5 memory
  • UFS 3.1 Storage

No wonder the smartphone does not benefit from the latest Qualcomm SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Xiaomi reserves this one for the Xiaomi 13, its flagship launched on December 11. Still, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will still be in 2023 one of the most powerful processors of the moment : it will thus allow the Poco F5 to climb to the top of the basket among mid-range smartphones.

The 5500 mAh battery should also give the Poco F5 a increased longevity, even if it is not the only element to take into consideration when it comes to analyzing the daily life of a smartphone. But, knowing the energy management capabilities of Xiaomi smartphones, we can already safely assume that the smartphone should last between 2.5 and 3 days without needing to recharge its battery. For comparison, the Poco F4 GT has a 4,700 mAh battery, which is one of its only weak points.

It remains to be seen whether we will be entitled to a GT version before the classic edition, as was the case last year. And above all, what will be the prices of the different Poco F5 models. Despite the price increase looming for 2023 on the flagship side, it is hoped that the prices of mid-range models will remain substantially identical to those of 2022. With a major technical sheet and a price of less than 500 €, the Poco F5 range would thus have enough to become the most beautiful business of 2023.
