Pokémon: end clap for Pikachu and Sacha after 25 seasons


The animated series “Pokémon” as we know it will end very soon with the farewell of Sacha and Pikachu, who will bow out after 25 seasons. But a new series, worn by the duo Liko and Roy, will see the light of day in 2023.

A page in Pokémon history is about to turn with the farewells of Sacha and Pikachu, the two main figures of the cult series adapted from the phenomenal video game franchise.

The Pokémon Company, partly owned by Nintendo, announced on Friday that a new Pokémon series will be released in 2023 in many countries and that it will feature new characters. “never seen before”including the duo Liko and Roy, report our colleagues from Parisian via AFP.

“The new series will be released after the current season”, sued the Pokémon Company, which manages the rights to the brand in all its forms. A twenty-fifth season which will see Sacha Ketchum, the hero of the series, be crowned “best trainer in the world”.

An ultimate reward which will thus mark the farewell of Sacha and his faithful Pikachu, who will title their bow after 25 seasons and should not appear in the next series of the franchise expected next year.

Fans will be happy to hear, however, that special episodes will be the “final chapter of the adventures of Ash and Pikachu” and “will give a glimpse of what the future holds” to these two iconic Pokémon characters. Episodes which will be broadcast in France on Gulli on Wednesday morning, without further details at this stage concerning the programming period.

The Pokémon Company is already promising that the new Pokémon series, and the characters of Liko and Roy, which can be previewed in the announcement video above, will delight the public: “Fans will watch with as much pleasure the new series, which will take up all the codes specific to the Pokémon cartoons dear to their hearts: action, adventure, friendship, and Pokémon”.
