The Pokémon Go Anniversary event celebrates the mobile game’s sixth year with tons of bonuses to collect and challenges to complete. Here’s everything you need to know.
A major event will take place in July 2022 for the 6th anniversary of the mobile application. Pokémon Go Anniversary will give players a full week of challenges, gifts, and other in-game bonuses.
Since we are celebrating the 6th anniversary of the game, Niantic has made it simple by highlighting Pokémon n°6 from the National Pokédex during the event. It is good to Charizardthe final evolution of Charmander in the first generation.

Pokémon Go Birthday – Date
Pokémon Go Birthday starts on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10 a.m. (local time) and will end on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 8 p.m. (local time).
Pokémon Go Birthday – New Pokémon
Three new Pokémon will be available on the mobile game starting Wednesday, July 6.
Before the event, only Charmander wearing a party hat was available and now these Charmeleon evolutions and Charizard can wear this hat on Pokémon Go. Finally, Pikachu and his cake costume will also be unlockable.
The three costumed Pokemon will also be available in Shiny version !
Pokémon Go Birthday – Ultra Bonus
Flamajou
The Burning Pokémon will be available worldwide and will appear in the wild and in Raids during Pokémon GO’s Anniversary event as an Ultra Bonus.
You can also find it in its version shiny !
Unown E
A new letter of the Unown alphabet will be catchable in Pokémon Go during the Anniversary event. Unown E will appear in Raid Battles as an Ultra Bonus.

Mostima Washing
A Timed Research will go live during the Pokémon Go Anniversary event. By completing the challenges, you may encounter Rotom Lavage.
Earn Event Stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, or purchasing them.

- 3 Star Raid: Venusaur*, Charizard Party hat*, Blastoise*, Tyranitar & Metagross
- 5 Star Raid: Electrhor*
- Mega Raid: Mega Charizard X* (July 6 to 7) & Mega Charizard Y* (July 7 to 12)
Pokémon Go Birthday – Field Research
The Field Research tasks will allow players to meet all the Starters from generations 1 to 7!

Pokémon Go Birthday – Battle Weekend
GO Battle Weekend will take place this Saturday, July 9 at midnight, until Sunday July 10 at 11:59 p.m. (local time).
Giovanni has captured Latios. It’s up to you to save him!
Save Dark Latios
Team Go Rocket boss Giovanni has got his hands on the Legendary Pokemon Latios. You can fight him and save Latios with a Super Radar Rocket.
Minions of Team Go Rocket and the three leaders, Cliff, Sierra, and Arlo, will use different Shadow Pokémon. You will have to defeat them in order to save Dark Pokémon like Racaillou, Lixy, Chacripan and many others.
There will also be a chance to find the Shiny version of certain Dark Pokémon! Finally, a Special Research dedicated to Giovanni will be available to earn a Super Radar Rocket. It will be available until the end of the GO Season on September 1, 2022.
Event Bonuses
- Enjoy up to 20 sets of GO Battle League every day
- Use a Charged Attack TM to help a Dark Pokémon forget about the Frustration Charged Attack
Event Ultra Bonus
- Team GO Rocket hot air balloons will appear every two hours.
- Enjoy an additional Raid Pass per day
- Earn 2 Mysterious Elements by defeating Team GO Rocket Minions
- Meet Legendary Pokemon in GO Battle League Rewards from Rank 16
- Earn 5× Stardust in GO Battle League rewards
- Gain 50% more XP in Raid Battles
- Earn 50% more Stardust by defeating Team GO Rocket Minions
Event Exclusive Attacks
By evolving Starter Pokémon during the Anniversary: Ultra Bonus event, these creatures will be able to learn moves exclusive to past Community Days.
